If you were to just tighten the bolts holding the brake pads you will get better braking, but you will also have the brakes applied a little more all the time. There will be more resistance to the drivetrain all the time. I would recommend adjusting the linkage to the servo. Also, on mine I noticed that the levers that are pushed to apply the brakes are not extended out all the way. If you loosen the set screw that holds these levers in place and then slide them all the way out they will become longer and give you more leverage on your brakes. I actually loosened the screws on my brake pads so that at idle and full throttle there is as little resistance as possible from the brakes.
