Default RE: John's Corsair lives again...

Thanks for the kind words. I'm a better builder than pilot. I took it to the field yesterday and taxied tested to check the stock retracts and to see if it had any bad tendencies. I think it probably taxies as good, if not better than any of my planes. I have the Robart struts like yours but didn't want to install them until I saw how the stocks performed. To make a long story short, I flipped it on my first flight. I got up about 3 feet and a 90 degree cross wind, coupled with additional pitch left due to thrust, was more that anticipated...I decided to land and try in calmer conditions. Anyhow, it landed but it flipped...only a tiny rudder ding though. Think I'll wait until Ivan passes through before giving it another shot.

I haven't decided on which 3 blade to install. Since I'm running a 14x8.5 APC TE, I suppose a 13x8 or 13x7 would do. I was thinking about an adjustable pitch, like a VariPROP... Any suggestions on brands?
