Sounds like you've got the membership situation covered.

When I started flying about 6 or 7 months ago, I found a backroad with nothing but fields around it and one farm. I got permission to overfly the owner's property and used the road as a runway. Always took someone with me to keep an eye out for oncoming traffic. Worked pretty good for about 5-10 flights until I joined a local club.
