Default RE: Rambler-45 second plane? updated

I just bougtht A Rambler 45 second hand, with a Magnum 61 4stroke.

i took the Magnum out withouyt even flying it, stuck in a 46 AX with Macs Black tuned muffler, and it flew awesome.

It nosed over on our grass field, frequented by deer who dig divots in the field. It was bumpy , bouncy with th erubber wheels on it, retracts installed with a metal gear hight torque servo. The servo hangs out of the wing 1/4 inch...soon to be cowled nicely.

My only gripe is, it wanted to nose over on takeoff , CG at 105 mm. I had to start out slowly , let it bounce around , while holding the elevator full , then gun it , let go of the elevator after speed builds up and then lifts off.

On landing, it was sweet, but have to put full up elevator right after the tail sets down to hold it down. This all on a grassy skunk and deer holed field.

I think the landing gear being right on the CG is why she is tippy, I may try a a little tail weight.

On pavement I am sure this is the cats meow. Glides perfect, flys awesome.

I have one question ...............Who is using Flaperons, spoilerons, airbrake, mixing, , etc.

What is the killer setup??? I have noticed that I needed 3/32" of down elevator after I trimmed her at full thrott and brought her down to look. Maybe a little tail heavy at 105mm ???? Or down thrust needed maybe....hmmmm.........
