RE: "Doubledge" biplane?
Yak? - yuk!. No seriously, coming out with just another version of another basic aerobatic plane may get some new buyers. BUT, if WH wants to expand their market, get repeat, multiple plane buyers, they need to broaden the available options. As I stated above, I'd love to get another 50cc gasser. But I don't want just another version of a Yak, Edge, Extra, etc. If I'm going to spend that much money I want some variety. A biplane, or classic racer, or pattern design meets that need.
I think Slade needs to release his rights to that idea.
Another thing for Tom to think about. While I love the bipes and a WH bipe would be nice - I wonder if the bipe market is not getting saturated. I know there are A LOT of them around; not sure if there are many 50cc versions though.
I would propose another solution for WH to expand their market. There are thousands of RC guys out there that are into warbirds and Classic designs. But once again, warbirds are all over the place and there are already several 50cc 'Stangs, etc out there. BUT, there are few classic racers/bush pilot type models out. There is a huge window of opportunity there. I would lean toward the 30's and 40's racer over a Classic Taylorcraft or Beaver only because of the "thrill factor" from a racer. Close your eyes for a minute, lean back and visualize this: A 50cc racer with a wild color scheme screaming around the field at treetop level - wow! Jeeesh, I got to go take a cold shower...
