RE: YS 160 Dingo
YS 160 DZ is a direct replacement for 140.
Probably the best place to buy 160 DZ is Central Hobbies.
Call or email them for pricing. Estimate is the same 140 DZ used to be last year, around 600-650 USD.
One comment about the discussion above:
I read Mike's comments so that there are choices. You do not need to have a YS. It is not a single path given from above.
Whoever himself feels a need for a YS, get one. BUT, get it only after you have established the need YOURSELF, not to follow someone.
I myself do not need the handicap. I like to fly more than to fiddle with engines. And I have experience on YS 4C:s since 1990.
I have many, many reasons to justify using a 2C engine myself, but YS converts have theirs as well.
There is no winner i this debate, except maybe a beginner if he (she) reads this advice:
Whaever the technology (OS, Webra, Mintor 2C, YS 4C, gas, electric etc.) buy technology that is supported locally. The best thing is to have fellow pattern flyers who can help you with your problems. I have needed help with OS 140 RX and Mintor 170 but have been able to help people as well.
