I'm not familar with the electronics you have, but for electric RC power systems in general, the battery is typically disconnected from the ESC to charge it, and he ESC should have an on/off switch connected to it. The battery, typically 7.2V+, connects to the ESC, which contains a regulator (or BEC, battery eliminator circuit) to provide ~4.8V for the RX and servos.
