RE: Need help for doing loop or roll !!
I am a newbie to aeros. However I can loop fairly consistently.
Some people will tell you that you need to use Idle Up for aeros. Mine will loop fine in normal mode with about 9 degrees top pitch. I can't remember what it is at the bottom but it's nothing extreme (maybe 3 degrees negative).
If your model flies fine in fast forward flight (i.e collective all the way to the top, the engine does not bog down and the gyro appears to be perfoming OK) then I would say the model is ready for it.
The loop
Can you fly 'stall' turns?
That is the first place to start. Once you can do this run into wind (two mistakes high!) at max level speed. Pull back (it is hard to say how hard. Pull too much and the energy will be lost. Pull too slowly and you won't make it over the top.). If in the vertical you are running out of speed then stall turn out of it. If it is all looking good then reduce the collective slightly and let the model fly 'ballistically' over the top. Keep slight back pressure on throughout. If you have too much negative and use it all at the top you are likely to end up climbing in an inverted hover. This is best left for another day! As you come over the top of the loop keep the pull on and play the collective to level off. What will probably happen is you will panic that it is not going to pull out and pull back hard and use loads of collective. This will cause a harsh recovery as the momentum of the model builds up. This isn't a huge problem and you will quickly learn how to obtain a smooth exit back into fast forward flight.
The roll
I can't do this yet. My difficulty is that I have flown planes for a while and every time it rolls inverted I try and push the nose up. This does not work. To maintain forward flight it appears to me that you need to keep the nose below the vertical when inverted and hold the altitude with negative pitch. This may need more negative than the loop but if you roll quickly you may be OK. Perhaps someone can help me in this area too!
