Default RE: Ca models Extra 300l 31%

I personally would get the 31% with the DA 50.

I know the trend right now is to try to get the plane to fly more like a fun fly and less like a scale plane, but my dad down in Houston has the 31% CA with a ZDZ 80 and it is very heavy at 23.5 lbs, and I would consider it to be almost rediculously overpowered. He is now building the 34% CA for the ZDZ.

As far as the plane goes, it flies a very true pattern. I haven't tried much 3D with it b.c it is a little too heavy (quite a bit of wing rock) and is a little overpowered as well.

The main criticism I have for my dads plane is that it came out too heavy and has too much motor on it b.c it flies WAY to fast through the pattern. (It has the KS tuned pipe and if it is in the tuned portion of the pipe (half throttle or more), the plane scoots).

But, do what you want and good luck to you.

And his plane has 1.2#'s of nose weight (to offset the pipe behind the wing)
2 servos per aileron
2 2200 mah rx batteries
2000 mah ign battery
5 oz 57XX 260oz tq hitec servo.
Tuned pipe setup 2 #'s

No other lightning mods on the plane CF gear, spinner, wingtube

With what I just named, you could easily save 4 lbs. 5+ would even be feasible if you went out of your way to make it lighter.

You would also want to move your wing back about an inch or so so that ou don't need to add nose weight to balance it properly.
I think he moved the wing back 1.25" on his 34% in hopes of not having to add nose weight.

just my $.02
