You can kinda do it in normal mode but, ive crashed once doing it by accident. You would be much better off to use a proper set of stunt mode curves and set up.

The throtle curve for stunt mode would be around 100% at low 45% at mid, and 100% at the top. you can alter the head speed a little by changing the mid point setting up or down. try for 1850 - 1950 RPM. If you have 5 point curves set the 2 and 4 points to around 60 (forms a bit of a drooping V curve) keep the 2 and 4 points the same. Try a few settings around that range and get a feel for how they affect head speed. Recomend just making the set up and taking some time tweeking it while you get used to the idea of switching to stunt mode and back to normal, even if all you might do for a bit is hover and switch back and forth. The thing to watch out for is starting up in stunt mode! it will happen, so get in the habbit of checking your mode switch and holding the head real tight while starting just in case.

The pitch curve should be a straight line between 0 degrees at center stick, and +11 at the top and -11 at bottom. If you want you can go +9 0 -9 so it can't go as fast on you. I do sometimes when i am working in something new. (working on backwards and inverted flight now, so i have one set up that way for the last few weeks) If you have trouble reaching both directions equally the long rods between the top of hte head and the swashplate might need to be lenthened or shortened a few turns. make sure both are the same length. (if this is a raptor we are talking about)

Recomend just working your way up to doing a loop one part at a time. try hovering and rocking the heli back and forth maybe 30 degrees each direction so you get comfortable with how slow it rolls forward and back, and comfortable with making corections. side to side is a good warm up too. are you good at forward flight, making figure 8's ? if not do that first. learning things in the right sequence helps reduce crashes, and probably saves time in the long run.

there is a good setup guide for raptors, it is specific to raptors but the info is usefull if you have something else. www.raptortechnique.com

best of luck!
