Best oil for "break-in"
Hi out there: I have been in this frustrating hobby for more years than I like to admit, and I'm still learning, and making amateurish mistakes. I have stubbornly stayed loyal to the 2 stroke, glow engines, (Super Tigres mostly), and have put up with all of their eccentricities, for much too long. Recently I nearly lost an expensive plane due to a sudden engine stoppage right after lift-off. I promptly removed the engine from the plane, and vowed to convert ALL of my larger planes to gas. I am now in the process, and am very pleased w/the reliability of the gas engines. I have acquired a variety of makes, and sizes. One of the frustrations I now have, is determining what the proper procedures are for breaking in the engines, and what type of break in oil to use. There seems to be a consensus that you should use "petroleum" only, for break-in. And there is a variety of opinions on what oil to use. Can ANYONE out there recommend a good, break-in, oil that would be available through local sources.
P.S. Anyone interested in a used Super Tigre?
