RE: My build thread of the Mojo.
Why doesn't everyone just put the past behind and move forward from here.
RCU was built to help RC hobbyists. That was my goal and mission from day one. I had zero ads on RCU for almost the first 5 months and turned down money from numerous advertisers every week who asked. It wasn't about the money. The site grew so fast and took so much time and money to run that it could no longer be a labor of love. IT would have crushed under its own weight if a strategy to facilitate the unstoppable growth was not put in place. A poll was taken and 80% of the members actually wanted to see ads. This brought the economic realities into the site which where the whole probro thing basically stems from.
Michael and I are both avid rc modelers. Not just recent modelers but lifetime since we were kids. We do this in the hopes that anyone in this hobby can get value from this site. Most of the time we accomplish that. Money that comes from it is a side effect and allows the site as well as us to continue.
So the piss on RCU stickers do little to help the hobby. They likely turn off newcomers to the hobby. People come into this hobby to relax and not to find clique's or hatred. It isn't about that and some have made it about that. I know there are those who are ready and willing to put the past behind and put the hobby in front of us all. Perhaps others will get the picture and follow and then everyone will benefit.
Now back to the regular mojo programming.
