calculating wings
Horizontal stab example:
(1) calculate actual area of tail, calculate actual area of control surface, use that ratio to get the percent for G2. Actuals take into account the fact that the wing is swept and the control surface is swept.
(2) using the actual 20 inch span, calculate the "effective chord" such that the effective area matches the actual area :
Actual area / 20 inches = effective chord. Use actual 20 inch span and effective chord as input parms to G2.
(3) set the tail forward from the end of the fuse by the effective chord times the control surface, (because the hinge is at the end of the fuse).
My intention in the above is that the program (G2) is probably using areas for tail surfaces. Am I trying to be too exact and in the process missing "fudge factors?
