The 9Z radio is on of the harder radios to program until you are familiar with it. The 9C series of radios from Futaba is the easiest radio to program by Futaba.
The difference in the two swash plates are the way the servos are connected. If you look in your manual on page 32 & 33 it shows the different swash plate lay outs. Your Heli uses the SR-3 lay out, with the exception of the elevator servo is in the front of the swash-plate and not the rear as shown. Futaba has an FAQ that tells you how to change this around.
