I've got a starter, I leave it home unless I'll be flying a plane with a 4-stroke (can't reach carb to prime),
not many people know it, but unless you are running a pump, you can prime with the exhaust instead. Just go full throttle, cover the exhaust outlet, and spin it over by hand a couple times. end result is the exact same as covering the carb.
(this might work with some pumps, not sure though, it should work with one-way's/regulators fine)
