Default RE: Shock flyer build tips

er, these are a few things I have learnt after building 4, or is it 5?

I find it easyer to put the tape over the leading and trailing edge carbon spars as you go along instead of after the whole thing is on. it doesnt matter much but it stops little gaps between the wing and the spars.

for the hinges I put a lines of tape top and bottom of the surfaces, but not going over the edge. Then when I hinge the surfaces it acts as if the tape was 2 times the width cause it sticks better to itself than it does to shockflyers. havnt tried a covering iron, thort id melt something.

Make sure you reinforce the front end alot because that is always the thing that gets nocked most. I have lost count of the number of times I break motors off.

The fuselage above and below the wing always breaks, I never bother to reinforce it from the start and end up having to do something ugly on it later.

I put strings on mine to stop the fuselage twisting, also I have made the ailerons and rudder bigger because I rekon it flies better.

thats all I can think of at the moment in building, just dont go flying it round your living room like an idiot. especially not on the test flight.

hope this is some use,

Thomas
