You took a big step up. Be sure to get some help with that Funtana.
That being said. A currently have the new Futaba 3305s in mine. These make 99oz on a 4.8v pack. You could get by with less but when you start to 3-D with this plane you need good servos. The 3305s are less than $40 each and have metal gears. A good prop for that engine should be a APC14x4W.
Do you have a good radio that has EXPO? If not think hard about getting one. Also on the batt question. For now stick with the 4.8v. The 6.0v will make the servo really quick. I don't think thats a good starting spot for you. IMHO.
I didn't beef up anything on mine. I broke out the gear block after many many flights. It will be fine unless you bang it pretty hard. One thing on the carbon fiber rods in the tail. Do not CA them in like the book says. Use 30 minute epoxy and rough up the ends. I have pulled mine out twice doing a wall.
