Default RE: WILGA QUESTIONS

Hello,
I have built and flown 2 of these kits. The engine used was a King 67 in both cases, this was in the eighties when there were not as many engine choices as today;today I would use a ZDZ 60.
Covering was heat shrink type, paint was automotive aerosol cans.
Rudder servo in the fin, elevator servo in stab. (upside down in bottom ). Do use high power servos.
Aileron and flaps servos were in the wing with pushrods through the trailing edge.
Taper the elevator leading edge to form a top hinge line, no need to split them. Also, I did glass the ply parts into the fuz., beware though, Frisch use a very greasy epoxy for the moulding. You MUST roughen the surface with very course paper before you glass, use epoxy resin not polyester.
If you need anymore info I will be glad to help if I can.
The Wilga is a super aircraft to fly.
Regards,
Mike
