You can get a 6 volt battery and shouldn't have any issues... Some people have experienced "jittery" servos because of the extra voltage and some will go the extra expense and purchase a voltage regulator...
However, in most cases where there are servo extensions (like the 5 you will use in the UCD3D, the resulting resistance seems to eliminate servo jitter...
I have several 6 volt packs (without using a VR) and have never experienced a problem.... there IS a noticable speed/torque increase too...
Lastly, depending on the momo you are using, you may still be nose heavy... that extra cell may come in handy to balance it out nicely...
Enjoy that plane... it rocks...

I'm new to this so can I just go out and buy a 5 cell NiMH at 6.0 and plug everything in? Or do I need a special receiver etc? I'm using a hitec 7ch receiver and a futaba 9ca tx...
