I agree with you that there is always the possibility of excess battery drainage from the pump motor if something goes wrong. I believe that a 2700mah battery would under normal circumstances be able to handle the extra 250mah draw with no problems.

I am just trying to save some weight and the space is limited in this airplane.

If anyone has equipt their Stearman with smoke and has any install information, it would be greatly appreciated.
