This leads to another option. Out drive VS struts. Not really caring for surface effects, I was going to throw the stuffing box and prop out the bottom "HOME BREW INBOARD" style and use cavity plates to trim the boat. The rudders(S) were going to be a separate entity. I was going to make them using some good aluminum stock and adding the pickup might require a little more manufacturing than I have the tools for.

So anybody know of a good out drive set that has a rudder with a water pickup and can be set for submersed over surface prop configs.

Once again, new to the R/C boating world so if my terms are off and I have no clue. Please tell me!
