Default Beginner on a Twist? Hell ya!!!

I just have to share my excitement, I took my new Hangar 9 Twist up for it's maiden flight and it was awsome!! Wondering why I said beginner in the subject line? Because before the twist all I had flown was a spad trainer called a spadet. I had only hooked up a buddy cord with an instructor 3 times, flew the spad about 6 or 7 times on my own and I was starting to get bored with it. All the seasoned pilots in the club were telling me to go with a shoulder wing, semi symetrical, no dihedral for a second plane. But, I was talking with a younger (and amazingly skilled) pilot and he said if you want a twist go for it, not that big of a deal, so I did. I'm running a GMS .47 in it, have the dual rates set at about 40%, CG at 4", and off I went on my own. On taxi I was so nervous I thougth I was going to puke, but tracking was straight and lift off was effortless. Once the plane was in the air I throttled back to about half trimmed it out (only 1 click on the elev.) and it was hands off. The plane was very easy to handle and flew like a dream. Loops and rolls, inverted flight, and stalls seemed easy, AWSOME[sm=thumbup.gif]. Now, time to land, hearts pounding like it's going to jump out of my chest, but, throttled back, lined up the runway, nice smooth slow approach, and touch down, absolutely perfect, and NO BOUNCES, WooHoo. All I can say is that I think the Twist is an excellent aircraft even for a second plane, and the best part is as your skill grows you don't need to buy more planes to match your skill level. However, I have spent about 10-20 hours on a simulator, THE FREE ONES, fms and another free one that I think has awsome physics and is a link on the fms home page called RCFsim (give it a try). This hobby is awsome and I can't wait to get in the air again, Keep flyin'.[sm=cool.gif]
