Well I went brushless and lipo, I coverted a free flight electric to 2 channel rc. took out stock motor(turning stock 5.1x3 at 8400rpm)replace with a go brushless cd rom motor I rewound and replaced mags(turning stock propat 15k). After charging and checking etc.....I left the lipo hooked up(power switch off) to the speed control, sat night. Sun morn I grabbed the plane and headed to the nearest "park" and turned the radio on and turned the plane on and waited for the beeps from the speed control and NOTHING![X(]. Okay, I calmed meself and removed the batt and checked the voltage, 2.6 on a 3s820[X(][X(][X(]. I did check the switch for off postion. So, I guess I'm askin If just leaveing the pack plugged to the speed control(power off)would wreck a lipo. Never even got a single flight out of it,40 bucks wasted[].
Am I just a dummy that missed used this lipo, and I was so carful with the shorting and voltage level in testing the motor. anyways thanks for the comments, even if to chime in and tell me that it was a stupid mistake. Thanks, Chuck
