I was flying my 3rd or 4th plane when I encountered the old Ikarus and DBFS2000 simulators. They were not much fun until I got used to the window, it lacks a lot that you see at the field. However, after that I tried four-point rolls, and was immediately able to duplicate at the field. Then inverted flight, then rolling circles, and I decided the sim was the way to learn new maneuvers. Translates almost directly to the field.

At least, it was in my experience.
