I use a mini Deans four pin plug. Cut the one pin off where the groove is so you have a three pin plug If the motor turns the wrong way, switch the plug around 180 degrees. Do all your testing without the prop on. Hope this helps.
PS Make sure your speed controller and batt. are capable of delivering the amps your motor requires. A good investment for testing is a Wattmeter.
