Here's a reply I received from VF concerning engine selection:


"Thank you for your message. A 1.08 is not recommended as it may put too much stress on the airframe. A 91 2 stroke is the largest we recommend. A 90 4 stroke is also very popular, but many customers use a Saito 100 or YS 110 or Saito 120, all 4 strokes. A 91 2 stroke will provide excellent speed and vertical authority."

I have a VF Edge 540 on order and plan on either a YS 1.10FZ or a Saito 1.00 as engine selection. The YS 1.10 would be a perfect match for the Edge. As much as I would like to put the YS in my Edge, I am leaning more toward the Saito 1.00. I figure that the extra money I would spend on the YS could be used for other modifications, as needed.

Another flyer by the name of Primodus has the Edge with a Saito 1.20. Check out this thread:
