RE: GP Super Stearman
I just set up my ailerons slaving the upper ones. I have less than 1/8" difference in throws and the up and down throws are equal. I put the lower control horn at 7/8" from the trailing edge TO the base of the control horn. Same for the top aileron. Now comes the difference. Mount the lower control horn with the linkage holes to the front. I cut off all but the bottom hole and contoured the horn for clearance. I get 1-1/4" throw with no binding. 1-1/4" throw on the bottom is 1-1/8" throw on the top. Use 4-40 metal clevises and lock nuts everywhere. Slicone tubing too. I also used 2-56 machine screws through the ailerons for a more secure mounting method. (Personal preference)
