RE: New HOW-TO Install Ignition Cutoff Device
DouglasLemons,
I turned in a review to RCU on the Duralight PowerBox 40/24 and it should be online at some point in the near future.
In a nutshell... it is the cat's meow for large scale aircraft with lots of servos needing to be natched, etc.
Redundant battery system, failsafe, electronic switch, dual regulators, the capability to match up a total of 3 4-servo gangs.
Offers a VERY clean install and several other amenities like each servo getting an amplified and full strength signal regardless of the lead length, noise isolation from the receiver, external battery low indicators, etc...
When you add up costs of the various chokes, switches, regulators, matchboxes, redundant battery systems, etc... you'll find that the 40/24 is actually a little less in cost, easier to setup, less connections and components to fail, less chance of interference due to elimination of all that wiring/connectors/etc. and more capable. It's also significantly lighter than the seperate items together.
If you have a plane that requires at least 2 sets of servos needing matched... say ailerons and rudder, then by all means the PowerBox 40/24 is a sweetheart of a solution.
An upcoming review of the BME Ultimate will feature the install of the unit matching the 4 aileron servos and 2 elevator servos.
Hope that helps...
