It's a fabric used in landscaping, pretty tough stuff. There was a thread a while back, forget which forum, but it showed how they put it down and gave prices. It comes in big rolls, you lay it down on a smooth surface and pin it down; it CAN tear, props will cut it, but easily repaired from what I ubderstand. Good alternative to consider, costwise, to paved runway. BTW, I think what you're doing down Garner way is fantastic. I know that area well, lived in Raleigh '83-'95, had a house in Garner from '88-'95, off Vandora Springs Rd. Step brother lives there, see him once in blue moon, can't believe how that place has grown since I moved. I went back to the foothills where I'm from (Hickory / Newton area) You mentioned getting access to lake for r/c boats, don't forget Floatplanes. Keep us posted on your progress.
