If you keep the plane below 18 pounds you will have more than enough vertical with the Brison. Should you feel the need to fly higher than you can see, then you might come up short, but only then.

I've been using a Brison 3.2 in an Extra 300S, and had it it an Edge with zero complaints with performance or pull. I've held the tail of a few planes with the DA 50's when they were run up and didn't note that they had any more pull, but did perhaps have less.

Your prop choice and plane weight will have more of an impact than the differences between the manufacturers. Buy what you can afford and remember that with the Brison you will have little, if any, need for customer support.

My personal opinion of the Brison line of engines is that they are good enough for me to have a couple of grand wrapped up in three of his engines. I could just have easily spent the cash with another manufacturer.
