Are the fuse cracks on the exterior of the plane ?

In that location there is a joint of the exterior sheeting
I can actually feel the joint under the monokote.

from the way the fuse is constructed it does not appear that
the exterior sheeting add too much to the structure of the fuse
maybe more for the cosmetic curve.
It seems that the inner ply structure is the main fuse.
