Default RE: cowl paint affected by engine heat??

just cut a hole in the bottom for hot air to get out and you will be ok.i have used latex exterior house paint on several cowls and airframes with no bad luck.it is an art to learn to spray it well but easy to do.thin it down with windowshield washer fluid instead of water and add just a half teaspoon of flowtrol to 8 ozs of paint and don't thin too much.about 60 paint and 40 water will work well.gas proof it with minwax polycrylic after it cures for three weeks and you will have a gas proof finish
