I've been working on a 64K memory module for the Futaba line of radios (see here:
http://www.hansenhobbies.com/products_64k.html) and its fully tested in the 8U and 9C radios but I don't have a 9Z to test it in (and I can't afford one right now).
I'm hoping to locate someone in Champaign, IL or Cincinnati, OH (or someone willing to ship?) who will allow me to borrow (or rent) their 9Z radio and do some testing. It would involve pluging a 64K memory module into the radio and watching the data and clock signals on an oscilloscope. It could take as little as 15 minutes. No radio settings would be affected. I'd be willing to rent the radio, or give a couple of our finished 64K modules to the lender. If anyone thinks they can help me please send me an email.
