Amen to all that.
TwinMan puts gyros on his P-38's.
I don't, under the basic premise that it's just one more thing to go wrong.
I just focus my efforts on trying to make sure both engines are completely reliable.
Also, call me crazy, but I never cycle the gear or use the flaps on any P-38 maiden. Just bring it in with power!
