I talked to the gentleman at Yellow Aircraft this morning and he explained that the offset was necessary to get the appropriate travel and avoid flutter. He thought there might be a little overkill in the depth but not much. I am anxious to see how yours looks, I didn't think the little trailing edge strip would hide much of the deep cut. Thought about adding a small block to the trailing edge that would cover the hinge into the aileron cutout.
