O-K- So I looked up the word gimp- As it turned out their are several possibilities so we can all choose a different one if we like..

1- A limp or a limping gait. # A person who limps]
2- Spirit; pep.
3- A narrow flat braid or rounded cord of fabric used for trimming. Also called guimpe, guipure.
