Default RE: New to the Warbird Forum, and just took the plunge on a TF P-47 .60 size

hello john, i flew a tf p47 for quite some time before selling her for bigger models. i flew her with an os120. very reliable and plenty of power. try not to use century jet retracts for this model. the struts are weak. the oleo is to short and they are forever coming apart on the smoothest landing. some of their bigger struts may be better but the tf p47 were weak. i even tried their new struts only to have the same problem. the retract worked fine but over time the bushings got sloppy. anyway, build that back end very light. even with the 120 she will darn near be tailheavy. enjoy yours, mine flew rock steady and the new owner is still flying mine and it is 7 years old now. take care, barry
