To me, flyng is only a fraction of this hobby, the climactic part, surely, but a fraction none-the-less. I think I would get bored if all I did was fly. The other part of the hobby is the social part, the helping others part, the building/modifying part, the "Which plane to I buy next" part, watching others enjoy the hobby, etc. If he doesn't want to hang out with the GIMPS - my guess is that after a couple months of rebuil......I mean flying, he'll get bored with it and go back to golf.
