if you know someone where you're going, maybe talk them into loaning/renting one to you.... Hertz rent-a-R/C anyone?
Believe it or not, when I was out there last Feb I showed up at the feild after all the fair weather flyers left for the day and a guy showed up with a reconstructed/bashed/testbed/recycled plane he was experimenting with flaps and a new radio. After spotting for him and helping him program his new radio (I had the same 9C) I shared some tricks for flying in the wind and never turning around to complete a circuit. If you have never done this it is some of the most fun I have had flying but you need a steady wind. Anyway he handed the Tx to me to fly for a tank. I had a great time sharing tricks, helping, bench flying, an actually flying. I wish I could remember the guys name, we had a great time.
