The Edge and Extra are both laser cut. Dave Patrick WAAAY under estimates engines for his planes, I think for warranty purposes. That way if you over power the plane and it blows apart its on you. If you use common sense and proper throttle management its not an issue. I have been flying my Edge for over a year with engines larger than what is recommended with no problems what so ever.
