Learning in windy conditions
Hi there !
I'm in Hamilton, Canada, and it is windy all the year around. I want to get into R/C flying after flying Control line/U-Control for some time. I have a Hitec Flash4 FM radio & HFS-04MI+ reciever with standard servos. I'll be learning on my own for all I know.
I can't decide which model to buy. I've been reading the EPP foam wings have good penetration & crash resistance. I tried one of the inexpensive, twin motor, thrust-vectored-turning airplanes (stealth hornet from WalMart) but was disappointed because of lack of penetration, very wide turns(especially while trying to turn into a headwind) and inability to maintain altitude by blipping thrust.
Please suggest something - I'm going nuts with the possible options & configurations. I'm on a student budget & so can't go into kits/ARFs costing above Cdn $ 170. I understand I'll have to get micro servos.... but which plane ????
Thanks,
Max.
