RE: Yellow A4 Skyhawk MW44 Flies!
Harry, Yes great combo. If you are looking for light wing loading and a forgiving platform. It is a bit better thrust than a DF .65 with Dynamax fan in a Yellow A4 I flew of a buddies. If you want extreme vertical and huge speed put a bigger engine in it. But weight and fuel weight go up then wing loading goes down and snap rolls are prevelant if you ask too much from the wing.(oh no, Ive gone crosseyed!) Personally I like light wing loadings because the jet flies way faster than scale anyway so the slow speed 90mph is great for me.
I carry 32oz with a 5 oz UAT. The MW44 has an onboard starter but you could use the wand. I used the Yellow scale nose strut with Dubro tailwheel, Robart struts with AirMagic wheels and brakes. The tailhook is air down spring up with a jettronics valve. Dry weight is 13lbs. Same as the DF version. Mine came with flaps and I use them for T/O and Landing. I have not made a flaps up landing yet but will on the subs. flights. I lenghtened the gear for scale appearance and cut out more in the wells for clearance. Yes I flew 1/2 the flights with bombs and drops and didnt see a diff in performance.
