Many thanks WW. Like you, my instinct is to hold the weight down rather than add power that adds weight, so I was leaning heavily towards the MW44. You have confirmed it is the way to go. Jets perform so well at much lower static thrust to weight ratios than prop planes do. Your 7:13 sounds very similar to my Sabre at 12:22 and it performs ever so well.
Did you make the refuelling probe yourself, what is it made from and is it detachable?
Air down, spring up arrestor hook sounds like a reversed spring air retract, is that what you used to activate it?
32oz of fuel means nothing to me, the irony is that here in the UK where we invented it we haven't taught or used that system for decades! In fact it is mostly illegal here now to sell anything based on that system[:@] I don't suppose you know what 32oz is in litres? Or in US gallons? What flight time are you getting on that amount?
