RE: NEW: Tensor 4D - Building & Flying!
Just got the Tensor 4D. First of all Eflite tells you that we made it wrong and that you must do a mess of things differently in order to build your plane. The materials supplied, such as the pushrods, are suppose to be made out of CF and music wire that you wrap and then glue together. Come on guys, solid CF rod with EZ connectors on each end. Simple, strong and effective. You are suppose to glue the servos in place, makes repair or removal easy! The CF rods, the 6 1/4" ones, are not long enough to go through the fuse as required. So now you either have a warped wing or you cannot glue the rods as needed. This is as far as I have gotten tonight on her. I am dreading to see how I am suppose to mount the power system.
I have built both the Little Ultimate Bipe and the Tribute. Both fly like sh_t. The Ultimate is so sensitive in the pitch axis that it is almost uncontollable. When I called Horizon thier rep told me that it was due to the wrong speend controller. I guess that a Phoenix speed controll was giving me a mixed elevator input???? Won't Castle Creations love to hear that Horizon claims that you cannot use thier equipment in the Eflite seris of planes.
The Tribute is so flimsy, the wings flap to the point that they broke out of the fuse. This is due to the design of the fuse. You have a CF rod running through the fuse for reinforcement, it is taped in place, and you are supose to glue the wing to this tape. Boy, that sure is going to hold up real well. I also tried to speak to Horizon on this and I was once again told that I was nuts. They actually told me that there was no tape on the airplane.
This to Horizon, if you guys want to build and sell these things, don't you think that you shoul stand behind them? You really need to listen to the customers that use your products.
Oh, and by the way, this Tensor is the b_tt ugliest thing i have ever seen!
