Gas engines: allow 1 cubic inch per twelve pounds of plane. ZDZ engine will grossly over power this plane, and require a lot of counter balance. I have flown this plane with a Quadra (way to0 heavy and over powered) and a fair running MDS 1.48. It flew it very well.

I would stay in the 1.6 to 2.1 two stroke range with this one. Sure, you will spend more on fuel, but you have a much easier plane to deal with. A 1.8 Saito would also fly this plane well.
