RYOBI FLAME THROWER HOT ROD ???
I am just going to put this out there and see if anone has some advice. I am currently building a project that is using a ryobi 31cc motor. I know some of you guys have years of experience with these motors so I posted in here. What I would like to be able to do is have flames shoot out of the pipes like on an old hot rod. I have made custom pipes that are very large and have some room to work on them. My first attemt at this was crude. I mounted a second magneto and ran that to a small spark plug I had tapped into the pipe. I got a good strong spark. I never got it to run rich enough to ignite the exhaust. Out of curiosity I wondered If I could just mist in some kind of flammable gas into the pipe. I drilled a small hole at the bottom of the pipe and used a small can of carbleaner with the red wd40 spray tube. I was ready to have this thing blow up in my face but to my suprise I never got any ignition. I know this is very dangerious to be messing around with but, I am confident I can do it. At one point I even (with the motor stopped) dumped some raw gas into the pipes and fried it up and still nothing. Cant have fire without O2 so, I thought I may not have enough fresh air to ignite. So far tests have beef fruitless. I really want to make this work so I will take any advice no matter how far out it sounds.
