RE: BOAT RETRIEVAL-Add your ideas on boat retrieval
Well, this is how i do it. I use an electric deep v with a twenty turn motor and ESC with reverse (LRP Runner Plus). Instead of the 7.2 I run an 8.4 battery pack instead, i gives me the torque that i need for tight turning. I have mounted upright on the transom a two inch rod with a hook on it. To that I tie about six feet of regular old white cord that about .125 in diameter. On the end of that i tie on a party balloon with one breath of air in it and then I send it after the other boat. By the time it reaches thestranded vessel the cord is water logged and heavy in the water. I then steer right at the bow of the other boat and make three or four tight circles around it and start to pull back toward shore. It catches the strut or rudder and the balloon keep the other end in order. If it hooks on good and I don't see the balloon sinking I can drag it back to shore pretty quick. It works for me but I haven't had one sink yet. Mark
