how cold is your definition of cold? up to 32 degrees and I wouldn't do anything different. from 0 to 32 (all farenheight...), also not much change, although starting is a little tougher. below 0, either give up driving, or run higher nitro fuel, makes starting quite a bit easier.

also, plastic stuff isn't too much of a problem, it will break easier at colder temps. one thing to watch out for is that screws will ALWAYS become loose at cold temps. metal shrinks, and you might end up with 6 screws loose at once.
