RE: g2 question
Darkfly,
Despite the bashing it takes on this forum, G2 is a very good simulator. You can definitely learn to fly with this software ... I know because I learned to fly with G2 and an Avistar trainer. After a few months on the trainer, I jumped up to an Extra 300S with no problems ... I can't imagine this would have been possible w/o G2.
I have both G2 and AFP. There are things I like and dislike about both programs. IMO, for someone learning to fly, the planes in AFP are way too easy to land ... the float much more than the real planes. G2 does a better job of modelling .40-.60 size planes (like the ones you are probably flying), while AFP does a better job of modelling 90-100" wingspan 3D aerobats. It is also easier in G2 to take measurements of your own plane and modify a G2 plane to fly similarly.
G2 does have parkflyers and electrics.
There are also a lot of advantages to buying the "old" sims ... great prices and easier on your graphics card requirements.
Good luck.
