My 38% Extra has plain old flat 22 gauge wires running to the elevators in the rear. Total run including everything is about 44 inches. They run inside the same paper tube and within about an inch of the antenna as well. No problems in several hundred flights. Each one is 36 inches long with a plug at each end.

I have also run as long as 48 inch extensions in large gliders without a single problem.
